What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy is an allied health profession, which aims to enhance an individual’s independence in important daily activities such as self-care, leisure and work tasks despite the challenges imposed by illness or injury.

We are skilled in the treatment of psychosocial, cognitive and physical impairments which allows us to treat individuals holistically, taking into account how their environment and context impacts their ability to function.

This is achieved through various approaches such as restoration of skill, prescription of equipment or assistive devices, and education on compensatory and adapted techniques.
